SOUP – CHICKEN BONES

Hello there!

Are you grossed out at the name of the soup? Please do not be.
Each piece of chicken meat is supported by a bone.

Chicken Soup is good for the soul.

It is also nourishing, refreshing and welcoming on a chilly autumn afternoon, or a cold, snowy day or as a welcome home for your tired little ones after a full day at kindergarten.

Did you know that many cultures prefer to prepare their food from A to Z at home.

Therefore, when you purchase boneless and/or skinless chicken meat, Mr. Butcher packages the bones for sale to those familiar with the benefits of these discarded parts.

Some nationalities eat almost all parts of the chicken; necks, feet, gizzards, even the heart.

Click on the neck and feet links and you will discover two articles and recipes introducing you to these chicken parts sprinkled with a generous helping of humour.

Pick up a package of Chicken Parts from the butcher or independent grocer.

Once at home, thoroughly wash the chicken parts and remove the unusually small bones.

You may be surprised to find that there are large portions of meat still attached to the bone.

Ha ha!  You thought that it was all chicken bones.

Wash chicken parts and place in a large pot filled with water.

Bring to a rapid boil for approximately one hour.

Chop the leaves off a couple stalks of Celery.
Wash and cut into 2 or 3 pieces, and add to boiling chicken parts.

Stir to blend in all ingredients.

Salt and Pepper to taste.

Add one tablespoon of Mr. Goudas Trinidad Hot Sauce and Extra Virgin Olive Oil for extra flavour.

Taste a spoonful. Did this bring back memories of a Chicken Soup that made your sniffles disappear some time ago in the past?

Now was that so difficult?
