Mr. Emilio Vittorio Manzani was born in the southeastern part of Italy in the early 1800s.
He was raised in an area that grows some of the finest olives in the world.
Although, his parents were not in the olive oil business, and because he started working at a very young age collecting olives from the orchards, he became acquainted with the olive taste, that was accepted by his friends and neighbours.
The tradition and the secrets of this exceptional variety was passed to his son and grandsons.
They carried this tradition, but were not able to mass produce due to the regions eclectic quality.
With the help of the latest technology, they were able to make a shipment which, for the first time, arrived in the Canadian market.
Nevertheless, the company believed that it would be a favorable item for the Canadian consumer, whom lately has come to appreciate the exceptional taste as favorite ingredient in their recipes.
After all, the geographic position of the growing region is almost at the same elevation level as certain parts of Greece, where we all know grows the best in the world.
It can be used in salads, in casseroles, and/or in a little plate with balsamic vinegar, sprinkled with a little oregano, as dip to wonderful Italian crusty bread.
