MILK - EVAPORATED MILK
How many times have you been to the grocery store and routinely picked up a can or two of Evaporated Milk?
Are you aware that Evaporated Milk is fresh or homogenized milk from which 60% of the water content has been removed?
The product is then stabilized, packaged, sterilized, boosted with Vitamin D and marketed to consumers in cans in a regular or 2% format.
A can of Evaporated Milk is convenient, has a long shelf-life, is a staple that should be added to your kitchen cupboard or panty, and is an excellent ingredient and base for many wonderful recipes including beverages, cakes, puddings, desserts, ice-creams and custards and used to enhance teas, coffees, hot chocolate, etc.
One part (half a cup) of Evaporated Milk and one part (half a cup) of water is the equivalent of a full glass of fresh milk.
